What is covered for critical illness caused by COVID-19?

Critical illness caused by Coronavirus Infection (2019-nCov) means that, while this policy is in force, a doctor has diagnosed the insured with Coronavirus disease and the insured has one of the following critical.

  2. Brain death or neurological failure
  3. Terminal illness

In this case, the company will pay compensation for critical illness as specified in the policy up to a maximum of one time per year.

What is the 14-day waiting period?

For those who bought the policy from March 26, 2020, onwards, there will be a waiting period of 14 days. Can the insured buy multiple policies?

Not for the same person. COVID-19 insurance is limited to 1 policy per beneficiary. One person cannot be covered from more than 1 million baht for critical illness, and not over 100,000 baht for medical expenses.

What if the insured provides false information?

If the insured provides false information or does not provide the required information to the company, the company has the right to refuse the insurance contract.The company will deny liability based on statements other than that the insured has stated in the documents.

Who are the beneficiaries of the insurance policy?

The insured can specify the beneficiary. If the insured dies, the company will pay the compensation under the terms of the policy to the beneficiary as defined in the insurance policy.
If no name of the beneficiary is specified, the company will pay compensation to the insured's legal heirs.

How to claim for critical illness caused by COVID-19?

The insured, beneficiary or the representative must submit the following evidence to the company within 30 days from the day the insured is suffering from critical illness

  2. A confirmation report of Coronavirus disease infection by a doctor
  3. The insured treatment history file (if any)
  4. Documents or evidence as required by the company as necessary (if any)

What is the coverage of medical expenses COVID-19?

If the insured is admitted to a hospital or clinic either as an inpatient or outpatient suffering from Coronavirus Infection during the insurance period, the company will pay the actual medical expenses but not more than the sum insured as specified in the insurance policy table to the insured.

How to claim Medical Expenses from COVID-19?

The insured must submit the following evidence to the company within 30 days from the date of leaving the hospital or clinic at their own expense:

  1. Compensation claim form provided by the company
  2. A confirmation report of Coronavirus disease infection by a doctor
  3. The original receipt showing the expense list or summary sheet of expenses
  4. A copy of the passport or Thai ID of the insured
  5. Documents or evidence as required by the company as necessary (if any)
