Bangkok – 30 September 2019. Roojai.com, the fastest-growing online car insurance platform in Thailand, has launched Roojai.com: Road to The Future, a contest with the goal of improving road safety in Thailand. The contest is open to university students and encourages all participants to propose technological ideas and solutions that can be used to enhance road safety in the immediate future.

The total value of the prizes is ฿180,000 and the winners will have the opportunity to have their ideas developed with the support from Roojai.com. Online registration is open from now until November 30 at Roojai.com/roadtothefuture

We want to do our part in helping the society to find ways to reduce car accidents, make roadways safer and encourage people to drive safe. We believe that technology can improve road safety and can help solve problems that lead to road traffic incidents and road injuries.”

According to WHO Global Status Report on Road Safety 2018, Thailand was ranked 9th in the world and the highest in ASEAN for traffic death rate, with 32.7 deaths every 100,000 people. Traffic deaths in Thailand are the highest in Asia. The majority of the victims are students and teenagers.

The Road to the Future Contest is designed for a team of three undergraduate students to propose an innovative technological idea in any platform to improve road safety and encourage others how to drive safely. Ten teams will be selected to join a two-day camp to gain knowledge from experts and have an opportunity to join the road safety onsite inspections. This will be a platform for Thai students to show their skills and to improve their awareness of road safety. “We want find new talents and hope this contest will build road safety awareness with students”, said Mr. Faquet.
